About Us
Our Story
Phil is a paralytic polio survivor who managed to regain full control of his body by following consistent standing exercises. He realized that people with mobility disabilities often get used to the comfort of their wheelchair and forget the importance of standing.
Standing bring considerable to someone’s health, especially if that person does not have full control of his/her lower limbs.
Improve/maintain bone and skeletal development
Avoid ulcers and swelling
Manage progression of scoliosis
Boost the cardiovascular system and reduce the risk of heart disease
Aid in kidney and bladder functions
Improve range of motion
Reduce risk of obesity
Our goal was to build an inexpensive mechanism that can assist people in standing. We aimed for an adjustable modular frame that one can use independently to stand directly from a wheelchair. We focused on an extensible design that over time we can develop even further to account for more specific needs.
